State Representative Michael P. McAuliffe
Michael is a lifelong resident of the 20th legislative district and has served as a member of the General Assembly since 1996. As a full-time legislator, he was honored to have served as Chairman of Veterans Affairs for the State of Illinois and has proudly earned the reputation of putting the interests of his constituents before political party.
Michael has served as a member of the Business and Occupational Licenses and Transportation Regulations and Roads and Health Care Licenses committees. He currently serves as a member of the following committees: Appropriations – Public Safety, Health Care Availability Access, Museums, Arts & Cultural Enhancement, Public Utilities, Tourism & Conventions and as spokesman for the Health Care Licenses and Veterans Affairs Committees. He was chosen by Secretary of State Jesse White to serve on the prestegious Traffic Safety Advisory Committee. Michael has led the charge to pass legislation to support public safety, military and veterans, education and economic development.
Michael has been honored by numerous organizations for his unwavering commitment and service to his constituents including the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois, Illinois Crime Commission, New Horizon School for the Developmentally Disabled, Illinois Committee of Blind Vendors, Illinois Athletic Trainers Association and Illinois Park Districts. Michael graduated from Holy Cross High School and attended Triton College. He lives in the 41st ward in the City of Chicago where he serves as the Republican Committeeman. Michael is married and the proud father of two young children.
